celebrating the youthful vitality of childhood, expressing affections after meeting someone for the first time, serious devotion to a cause or person.
“let good luck make your adventures go smoother;” “celebrating new beginnings in life instead of focusing on endings.”
Fountaine returns from 2015’s prime debut of Blak $ushi, with an equally impressive yet far more mature 2016 sophomore release, Wisteria. The 12-track LP is the second official independent release from the Portland native and is available for purchase on Bandcamp. Along with features from in-house NBG members such as singer/stylist Mia Charnelle, rapper Jon Belz, frequent collaborator Mat Randol, and Portland-by-way-of-Houston singer/rapper/producer Snugsworth – all but one track (“Peas and Carrots”) was produced entirely by Fountaine himself.
Prior to its official release, the album was made available for a select handful of supporters at a very intimate listening session held in Fountaine’s hometown. Wisteria received much praise from media and concert promoters, local creatives, and fellow artists; followed by a spotlight of the event in The Chapter Mag. Fountaine is currently booking shows for his upcoming tour, and will headline as the featured music performance for a collective art show, April 22nd, at Disjecta Contemporary Art Center.
